Point Cook Shopping Centre

VicUrban and Walker Corporation created the $150 million Point Cook Town Centre development on a 10 hectare site located 23 kilometres south west of Melbourne’s CBD. The vision for the Town Centre has come to life with a ‘main street’ theme featuring both street-side strip shopping, undercover walkways and a village atmosphere designed to encourage local residents to meet and chat. The Centre also demonstrates high levels of sustainability, energy efficiency and social amenity. The design creates an engaging environment with lively pedestrian spaces, fostering a strong connection between the buildings and the streetscape.

The second stage of the Point Cook Town Centre is now opened and features over 40 specialty retail stores, a new concept Harris Scarfe department store, Best n Less, Rebel Sport and Terry White pharmacy. The new precinct also includes a purpose built Town Square with outdoor seating and public entertainment space, more on-street retail, alfresco dining options, an additional 250 car spaces and a Food Court with over 400 seats.

The Point Cook Town Centre provides a focal point for commercial and community infrastructure for the rapidly developing residential area. It is the largest retail development for the Point Cook community, servicing more than 60,000 households in the Wyndham community. The 10 minute drive time population is in excess of 137,000 people and is forecast to grow at 5% p.a. ; Wyndham has experienced the largest and fastest growth in all Victorian local government areas and is the fourth fastest growing in Australia with 5 new families moving into Wyndham every week.

The centre is anchored by retail giants Coles, Target Harris Scarfe and Aldi plus large format retailers including The Harvest Store, Provincial Home Living, Fenix Fitness Health Club, The Reject Shop, Best & Less, Rebel Sport and Best Friends Pets Suprestore. These stores are complimented by another 120+ specialty retail stores including an eclectic mix of fashion, homewares, accessories and the very best in fresh food, café/dining options and a range of every day personal services. There are over 1,300 car spaces with 750 of these located in undercover car parking facilities with direct access to Coles, Target and Harris Scarfe. Furthermore the centre includes dedicated community facilities including Giant Leaps Childcare Centre, Point Cook Superclinic Medical Centre and the new Point Cook Community Learning Centre which comprises of Public Library facilities, Civic/Community Learning Rooms; Occasional Care facilities, Toy Library, Community Kitchen, Kindergarten and, Maternal and Child Health Consulting Rooms.
