Celebrating the life of Lang Walker AO - Public Memorial Service
A public memorial service will be held for Lang Walker AO at the Sydney Town Hall at 11am on Friday May 3rd, 2024.

Lang passed away peacefully with his family by his side in January and was laid to rest at a private family funeral service on the Gold Coast.
The Walker Family has been touched by the outpouring of support and well wishes received and would like to extend to the wider community, the opportunity to celebrate Lang’s life and achievements at a special memorial service.
Seating at the Memorial will be reserved for family, friends, dignitaries, and invited guests.
The wider community are welcome to attend and will be shown to more seating in order of arrival. Ushers will be on hand to assist with seating.
Doors will open at 10:30 am and attendees are kindly requested to be seated promptly by 11.00am for the Service.
In 2015, Mr Walker was awarded an Order of Australia for his philanthropy and service to the community.
Lang’s generosity and love of helping others is well-known and extends to the Walker Family Foundation and its philanthropic partnerships in major community projects, including the Powerhouse Museum at Parramatta, the new Lang Walker AO Medical Research Building – Macarthur and support for Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, to name but a few.
Lang formed Walker Corporation over 50 years ago and built a world class business into one of Australia’s largest privately owned property companies.
Together with his team at Walker Corporation, he has delivered exceptional placemaking concepts that can be seen in iconic developments such as Broadway Shopping Centre, Rhodes Peninsula, Woolloomooloo Wharf, King Street Wharf, Hope Island Resort, Collins Square and Parramatta Square.
