Leading chartered accounting firm BDO has signed a 10 year lease in the soon to open Tower 4 at Melbourne’s largest commercial office precinct, Walker Corporation’s $2.5Billion Collins Square development.
The $380 million Tower, anchored by ASX listed Link Group, a leading global share registry and financial services provider, will be completed in September 2016.
Tower 4 has been designed by internationally renowned design studio Woods Bagot and BDO Melbourne expects to move its 22 partners and in excess of 160 advisory, tax and audit personnel in to the building late in 2016.
BDO will occupy one high rise floor in the 21 storey tower with only a few floors remaining for lease before opening in September 2016.
Chairman of Walker Corporation, Mr Lang Walker, said “Tower 4 features a bespoke design, creating both a highly efficient workplace and great amenities for BDO staff, who we are delighted to welcome to our five tower Collins Square precinct. We are pleased to be taking a partnership approach with BDO and their advisers to deliver the firm a high quality workplace in a cost effective manner”.
The large, 2,600 square metre side core floor plates in Tower 4 have enabled BDO to consolidate into a single, highly efficient workplace.
David Garvey, Melbourne Managing Partner for BDO said “We are very keen to utilise the large floor plates in Tower 4 to create a connected and enjoyable workspace for our staff, who will also enjoy access to the many amenities of Collins Square and the many nearby public transport links.
“BDO are committed to creating a flexible working environment for our staff. The new fitout that we are working on with Walker Corporation and our architects Unispace will position BDO to meet the future needs of our staff and clients”, he added.
BDO were represented by Pepper Property who negotiated the lease in a Tenant Advisory role, and also provided Workplace and Project Advisory services to help BDO create an innovative office environment to suit BDO’s future business needs.
Designed to achieve a 5 Star NABERS Energy rating, key features of Tower 4 include an expansive internal atrium with a 60 metre green wall, balconies and collaboration pods plus external terraces on Levels 13 and 21 capturing panoramic views of Port Phillip Bay.
Collins Square’s on-site Business and Events Centre will open later this year, which has been designed by Melbourne architects Carr Design. “The Suites” business centre offers private, flexible, sophisticated meeting rooms designed to suit all business meeting requirements.
“The Assembly” events centre can host private seated dining for groups from 12 to 200, or cocktail events for up to 400 guests, as well as training facilities, seminars and other functions.
All the spaces are fully equipped with the latest in AV, tele-presence and soundproofing technology, and are serviced by the in-house Collins Square Catering Kitchen, who can also deliver ad hoc requirements straight to tenancies.
Collins Square has attracted the top of Melbourne’s business community with blue-chip tenants including Marsh Mercer, Transurban, KPMG, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Penguin Random House and Pearson, Maddocks, AECOM, Link Group and Mott MacDonald all calling Collins Square home.
The development is in the unique position of being the premier commercial precinct for both the large corporate users and just as importantly the smaller bespoke firms that are also looking for premium quality Collins Street premises.
A combination of modern, flexible and high technology workspaces, unparalleled CBD retail, bars and restaurants with great connection to both trams and Southern Cross Station has seen Collins Square continue to become Melbourne’s premier business address.
