South Australian Company wins Riverlea water tender
Walker Corporation has today announced the successful tender for the first piece of major infrastructure at its $2 billion master planned community at Buckland Park in Adelaide's northern suburbs, to be known as Riverlea.
BJ Jarrad Pty Ltd, a South Australian company with extensive experience in the infrastructure sector, has secured the contract after a competitive tender process.
Buckland Park Development Manager Simon Kay said the winning tender would begin work on constructing water and gas infrastructure in early June.
"The awarding of the first major tender is a significant milestone for the project which underscores Walker Corporation's commitment to the creation of this new community at Buckland Park," Mr Kay said.

Walker Corporation has committed $76 million to develop the first stage of the master planned community with initial subdivision and landscape works expected to commence in September 2012.
The new community at Buckland Park is 30 minutes from the Adelaide CBD in a region earmarked for significant residential and employment growth over the next 20 years.
Walker is working alongside the State Government and the City of Playford to build this new community that will include schools, neighbourhood centres, a district centre, sporting facilities and public transport connecting the community to Elizabeth, Salisbury and the CBD.
"Riverlea will be home to innovation and a fresh start for thousands of South Australian families over the next 20 years," Mr Kay said.
