One of Brisbane’s most sought after addresses; we immediately recognised the potential to once again establish 150 Charlotte Street as a prominent, modern commercial office that would meet the growing demand for more efficient and sustainable working environments. Applying green initiatives and our proven mixed-use approach, we breathed new life into what was a tired, neglected office building.
Completed in 2012, this $90m building offers 10,500sqm of office space over 18 floors. The clever and flexible design combined with ecologically sustainable principles improves both productivity and mood of the workforce. Designed by architects Nettleton Tribe, we created an open plan and largely column free floor space to allow a varied range of working and collaborative spaces. Environmental features include healthy air quality, no-glare natural lighting, reduced water consumption and energy costs, and lower carbon emissions. All of which contributed to our 4 Star NABERS and 4.5 Green Star rating.
We believe the success of commercial buildings is as much about the general public using the incorporated retail and services as it is the tenants, which is why we place an emphasis on the public space and ease of entry into our offices. With this in mind, we reopened the laneway between Charlotte St and Elizabeth St to allow a free flow of pedestrian traffic on the ground level, this improved access to the building and café.
This sustainable and affordable building is complete with car parking, end of trip facilities and retail on the ground floor – a café and hairdressers – ticking all the boxes for forward thinking organisations. Our leading design and mixed-use approach attracted Boeing as the major tenant, as well as the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and Zurich. Now one of Brisbane’s industry leading commercial buildings, the tower is also home to our Walker Brisbane office.
