Overview
One of Canberra’s most significant commercial developments, the $280 million DEEWR HQ building achieved the highest attainable 6 Green Star – Office Design V2 and 5.5 Star NABERS energy rating. The interior of this A-Grade building is spread across 40,000sqm of workspace over 12 levels, with large 3,600sqm floor plates incorporating open plan spaces, filled with natural light.
Constructed with environmental sustainability and workforce efficiency front-of-mind, the building features cutting edge green technologies such as a bio-filtration “green wall” by Umow Lai and Associates which acts as a natural filter for indoor air, removing airborne contaminants, a tri-generation energy plant, rainwater harvesting and a grey water recycling plant integrated into the building.
We executed the project from concept through to completion. The space promotes accessibility and visibility with features that encourage interaction and productivity, including collaborative working spaces, innovative customer-focused areas, a healthy working environment and premium onsite services and end-of-trip facilities.
Designed by May & Russell Architects, we managed the construction of the building and delivered a $40million client integrated fit-out designed by GHD Woodhead International. The building was complete and opened in 2010.
