Appin Grove welcomes first families

The first of more than 250 families have walked their blocks at Walker Corporation’s sold-out residential community Appin Grove, marking a major milestone in the delivery of new housing for Sydney.

Located just 10 minutes south of Campbelltown, the Appin Grove masterplanned development has now reached completion, with homebuyers excited to inspect their land following the estate’s rapid three-month sell-out in August 2023.

Walker has invested heavily in landscaping delivering a premium entry statement and tree-lined footpaths, setting the tone for a green, connected and vibrant new neighbourhood.

State Member for Campbelltown Greg Warren MP welcomed the milestone as a positive step for families and local housing supply.

"This project makes progress towards delivering new homes for families, jobs in construction, workers spending locally, and a strong commitment to building sustainable, green communities that honour Appin’s unique landscape."

"This project makes progress towards delivering new homes for families, jobs in construction, workers spending locally, and a strong commitment to building sustainable, green communities that honour Appin’s unique landscape."

"It's wonderful to meet some of the families who will soon call Appin home, and I am excited to see the lives they will build here."

Walker Corporation Managing Director and CEO David Gallant said Appin Grove builds on the success of Appin Valley, a 336-home community delivered by Walker in 2015.

“When you drive through our neighbouring Appin Valley community, it’s clear how much pride residents take in their homes and the streetscape, and that sense of pride and community is exactly what we want to replicate at Appin Grove,” Mr Gallant said.

“Appin Grove is the first step in our long-term vision for Appin. We have a major masterplanned community ready to go following the Development Application being lodged with Wollondilly Shire Council for approval back in July 2024.”

“The Minns and Albanese Governments are right to prioritise housing supply and if we can get our next approval, we’re ready to get on with helping to deliver the next wave of homes for Sydney.”

New resident Glen Jackson said he can’t wait to start building his dream home in Appin Grove.

“It’s such a great feeling to see our block and where we’ll start building our house,” Mr Jackson said.

“We can’t wait to settle down and watch our son grow in our forever home.”

To celebrate the milestone, local families planted the first of many trees on their blocks, supporting the 40 percent tree canopy target, contributing to cooler, greener streets and helping to keep temperatures lower in the area’s warmer climate.

Appin Grove is the next stage of Walker’s long-term vision for Appin, with the next larger masterplanned community currently under DA assessment which can deliver over 600 new homes, supporting the NSW Government’s housing targets under the Housing Accord.

The broader Appin masterplan includes a diverse range of housing options, significant infrastructure upgrades, a neighbourhood centre, a new school, a beautifully landscaped entry lake, inclusive play spaces and green open spaces within walking distance of every home.

As part of its long-term environmental commitment, Walker has also commenced a revegetation program that spans five million square metres of conservation land. Over the next decade, tens of thousands of trees will be planted across the Appin communities, preserving and restoring natural bushland.

The first families are expected to move into their homes at Appin Grove early next year.
