The giant installation will be the centrepiece of Collins Square’s fifth annual partnership with the Cancer Council, where visitors can buy daffodils or donate. All proceeds from the day will go to funding vital cancer research.

Walker Group Executive, Investment Assets, Emily Carroll, said the installation celebrates five years of collaboration with the Cancer Council and the generous support of our wonderful tenants and the wider Collins Square community.

“This year’s daffodil installation is a reminder to the many thousands of our Collins Square community who pass through our Main Retail Plaza that together we can raise the funds needed to beat cancer.”

“Every year, the Collins Square community digs deep for Daffodil Day, and we’re proud to back the incredible work the Cancer Council does for the fifth consecutive year.”

Todd Harper, Chief Executive Officer at Cancer Council Victoria, said community partnerships like Walker’s Collins Square – and the generosity and community support they inspire – play an important part in helping drive world-class cancer research.

“The Walker Collins Square installation is always a standout, and we’re so proud to partner with them again this Daffodil Day,” Mr Harper said.

“The daffodil is the international symbol of hope for everyone touched by cancer, and that’s what makes this campaign so special. With almost one in two Australians diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85, every daffodil sold, and every dollar raised through Daffodil Day, helps give hope for a cancer-free future.

“Every single person who contributes to our fundraising across the month, including buying daffodils at Collins Square, can feel proud that they are helping us continue our crucial investment in life-saving research programs.”

In Victoria alone, more than 38,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year. Funds raised through Daffodil Day help support prevention programs, patient support services, and cutting-edge research at leading institutions across the state.

Over the past four years, Walker’s Collins Square Daffodil Day stall has raised nearly $40,000 for Cancer Council, with organisers aiming to surpass last year’s record.

Those unable to attend in person can still support the cause by donating online at daffodilday.com.au.
