Walker’s Wallis Creek land release sells out in just eight hours

The first stage land release in one of the Hunter’s most popular neighbourhoods has sold out in less than a day as demand for house and land in NSW surges.

Wallis Creek by Walker already boasts a strong family community of over 1,000 homes, with the latest addition to the masterplan adding another 322 large land lots at Gillieston Heights, just 30 minutes’ drive from Newcastle.

The first 18 lots in the staggered release were snapped up in just under eight hours after appointments to buy land with Walker sales team were booked out in 10 minutes.

Walker Executive Chairman Lang Walker AO said the record sell-out reinforces the strong demand from families wanting to live in a masterplanned community anchored by parklands, health, education, shopping and transport.

“Wallis Creek is giving more families the opportunity to unlock the great Australian dream - a place where residents are proud to live on big blocks of land with a backyard for the kids and the dog to run around in.”

"The interest from young families and couples who have outgrown their apartments has been unprecedented, they want to live in a house-proud neighbourhood prioritising education, childcare, parks, recreation and convenient retail in one of the country’s best lifestyle regions,” said Mr Walker.

Wallis Creek residents Adam Buchanan and Megan Lye said they’ve never looked back, viewing dozens of projects before settling in Wallis Creek.

“We’ve loved making friends in the area and being so close to Newcastle, the beautiful beaches of Port Stephens, the Maitland town centre only five minutes down the road and the incredible Hunter Valley vineyards just 30 minutes away,” said Mr Buchanan.

Walker will expedite their second land release in the coming weeks to cater for a growing waitlist of families and investors.

Large-scale, amenity-rich masterplanned developments like Wallis Creek are essential for tackling NSW’s critical housing supply shortage and alleviating pressure on the rising cost of renting and buying property.

Walker is playing a vital role in bringing more homes to market nationally, with close to 40,000 dwellings in the pipeline across New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.

“We make big contributions to local infrastructure, cultural activities, healthcare, education and sustainability to ensure our communities have everything they need to thrive alongside diverse homes catering for generations to come,” Mr Walker said.
