Overview
Mount Barker is situated at the very heart of Adelaide Hills and operates as a major retail, entertainment and services centre for the 14 neighbouring communities. Spread across 130 hectares, Bluestone will eventually comprise over 1,400 households. The community offers the perfect combination of beautiful scenery in a tranquil setting, with access to local amenities you would expect from city living.
At Bluestone, life is unhurried and relaxed with plenty of opportunity to enjoy outdoors activities. Generous sized lots of land are set amongst 20 hectares of wide open green spaces, incorporating a community garden, parks and reserves, complemented by 10km of hiking and bike trails for families to live, play, explore and grow. Developed with sustainability front of mind, the outdoors spaces are maintained with recycled rain water and the creek was enhanced with native vegetation – over 100 mature eucalypts have been retained on site with a further 900 new trees, 20,000 native plants and 30,000 shrubs planted.
An idyllic backdrop of rolling green landscape, Bluestone was carefully planned to meet the lifestyle needs of modern families with close proximity to an array of established conveniences, including shopping centres, supermarkets, a plethora of restaurants and cafes, schools, childcare, hospital and medical practices, through to recreational facilities, delivering city comforts amid countryside living. These include reticulated LP Gas and Telstra Velocity network, delivering high-speed internet to every home.
Having developed 530 home sites, Walker sold the project in November 2014 to PEET who has partnered with CIC Australia to deliver the remaining stages of construction, consisting of smaller town houses.
