Hope Island

Residential

Master planning vision turns hope into dreams at this resort style residential community, complete with a marina, golf course and vast outdoors space.

Overview

It’s a safe bet, when given a choice most people would rather be on holiday than at work. But to our mind, it doesn’t necessarily have to be one thing or the other. What if your work lifestyle incorporated those aspects that make holidays something to dream about – surf beaches, golf courses, waterfront apartments, clean air, open space?

That was our vision for Hope Island. Originally a sugar cane and dairy farming area, Hope Island was in the hands of overseas interests for many years, presumably as a site for development. But not much was happening and the site had been neglected for more than a decade by the time we acquired it in 2000.

Lang Walker AO quickly came to the decision that the area’s proximity to Queensland’s Gold Coast was a major asset and should inform the type of community to be built.

We then began the re-development of what was to become a $1 billion project. Over the next 10 years, the resort evolved to become a first class master planned community where more than 2,000 families now live, work and play.

Hope Island sets the benchmark for this type of luxury ‘home as holiday’ lifestyle development, featuring canal-front living, a 250 berth marina, world class golf course, boardwalk tavern, tennis academy, plus a retail village with supermarket, specialty shops, commercial offices and restaurants.
