Lang Walker AO Said: I SAW The Bunyip (“It’s boom time in our region”, Progress in the North feature, The Bunyip, 27/10/21) refer to our Riverlea master-planned community as the jewel in the crown.

It gave me immense satisfaction and pride to know we are making such a positive impact on the community, just eight months after launch.

"I’ve always believed in every Australian being able to have the chance to own their own home and the dream is becoming real for hundreds of excited families who will now be able to lay down the foundations of their dream home."

Lang Walker AO - Walker Founder and Executive Chairman

One of the most effective ways to future-proof any city against housing affordability issues is to boost supply. Our 12,000 homes for 30,000 residents over the next 30 years will give a vital shot in the arm of the growing northern Adelaide population.

Importantly, wherever Walker Corporation transforms urban communities, our Walker Family Foundation supports the communities we are involved in. This includes investment in education, health and cultural values, which ensures our community legacy also benefits future generations who come to live in Riverlea and the surrounding northern suburbs.

Walker’s team continues to fine-tune every element of Riverlea with phase one of the retail centre attracting strong interest from childcare, medical and pathology, wellness, gyms, supermarkets and taverns. Cafés and small eateries will complement phase one and bring a buzz to the earliest residents in our Riverlea community.

We are building the best and the biggest master-planned community in South Australia with the lifestyle to match. Riverlea comprises over 420 hectares of open space, and 30 hectares of lakes, surrounded by 42 kilometers of recreation trails with bike paths and running tracks, as well as four schools and four retail centres. The Riverlea community has a strong focus on being healthy and heart-smart with the wide open waterways delivering an abundance of space to row, kayak and paddle board. While Adelaide city has the River Torrens Trail, northern Adelaide will have the picturesque Riverlea Lakes run.

Families will love the Lakes, as a place to teach the kids to ride their bikes or go for a stroll. It will be a drawcard for locals and visitors to catch-up for a sunrise coffee or a sundowner by the lake and eat at iconic restaurants.

Riverlea has it all on its doorstep with the added bonus of being able to drive to the city in just over 25 minutes or take a trip to the beautiful Barossa Valley for the weekend.

The excitement coming out of Riverlea is infectious across the northern suburbs, Gawler and the Barossa region and the tens of thousands of direct and indirect jobs created from our development will pump millions of dollars in the local economy. This jewel in the crown is a badge of honour Walker will wear proudly as we create an incredible community.
