Walker Corporation’s Malaysia residential projects, in Johor Bahru, continue to expand following the success of Senibong Cove and Senibong Hills, with a third community approved and underway, known as Crest@Austin.
In addition to three active communities, a further two are in the planning stages, including the future Senibong Islands and Poresia. Once complete, Walker Corporation in partnership with its local shareholders will deliver over 30,000 homes in the region of Johor Bahru.
Crest@Austin – new master planned community
This project was driven by local demand for spacious and cost effective living within commutable distance to Singapore.
Modelled on the successful approach of Senibong Cove, Crest@Austin is located at Mount Austin on neighbouring land to existing development. Close to the heart of town, it has been designed to combine luxury, convenience, work and lifestyle, with open spaces and parks throughout.
Spread over 390 acres and six precincts, the estate will eventually comprise 4,600 homes and a neighbourhood shopping centre. Each precinct has been named after precious stones. The first neighbourhood, named Ruby, includes 586 terrace homes and will be delivered over four stages.
Earthworks began on 20th March 2019 and the sales gallery is now complete. The team handed over to the interior designers on 15th June 2019, and the gallery was officially opened on the 29th of July. A successful opening attracted huge crowds and indicates strong interest for the launch, later this year.
Senibong Cove – a thriving and growing residential community
Featuring five different enclaves, lush greenery, waterways, a world class marina and future 20,000 square foot boutique shopping mall, the delivery of Senibong Cove is well underway.
Once a derelict prawn farm, the now thriving, mega master planned community, has been transformed into exclusive marina resort living. Featuring a clubhouse, spectrum of exercise facilities, first-class food and drink offering, community events and outdoor activities.
Every precinct features a clubhouse with facilities including multipurpose rooms and meeting spaces, gymnasium, resort style swimming pools, as well as badminton, tennis and basketball courts.. There are four parks with extensive interconnected walking and cycle trails for residents.
Shopping and dining
Adding on to the seven existing F&B outlets, there will be nine more restaurants opening by end 2019 including a Korean restaurant, a Thai restaurant, a steakhouse, café, grocery store and a hair and nail salon. Currently, there are three bars in operation including Goldman Club, Harvest Bar & Grill and BierHaus. The ground floor of WaterEdge apartments features the popular Vanilla Bean café and a 7-Eleven.
Exercise and outdoor activities
Residents enjoy a variety of fitness and wellness classes on green space around the marina and at the indoor badminton court. The parks are designed for the whole family with playgrounds, ponds and contemplation spaces. The more adventurous can kayak on the Lunchoo River or Jet Ski at the marina.
Communal events are commonplace e.g. Family days, charity events, fishing in the lagoon & jet ski demos. In the planning is a massive open air event in October and a Christmas village in December.
